Hybrid Engine
Nannidiesel have recently launched the Hybrid Engine.  (First Image from top) Suitable for the Nannidiesel engine range from 21hp to 200hp, it is available in 24v (6.8hp) and 48v (9.5hp).  It is environmentally friendly with zero emissions, silent and comfortable operating in electrical mode.  It fits neatly between the engine flywheel and the gearbox and requires very little maintenance. The principle behind the the Hybrid Engine is based on a generator.  The batteries are charged while the diesel engine is running.  These in turn power the electrical propulsion when the diesel unit is not running.  An electronic management unit independently controls the hybrid system to direct the energy to either charging the batteries or powering the electrical engine.  The main benefits are listed below:-

  • Environmentally friendly, silent and comfortable in electric mode with zero emissions.
  • Comfortable navigation and fuel efficient in electrical model with total control while cruising.
  • Easy to control in electric and diesel mode with a shared single lever control.
  • Low maintenance - coupled between the engine flywheel and gearbox (No bracket adjustments).
  • Easy to switch instantly between electric and diesel mode as required, for example, in strong winds and tidal conditions,
  • The intercalated Hybrid System can be fitted on the Nannidiesel range from 21hp through to 200hp , complying with the most stringent emission regulations in the world (EPA, RCD, BSO).

Nannidiesel & VM Motori Agreement
Back in July 2009 Nannidiesel and the Italian company VM Motori announced an agreement in which VM will supply new four and six cylinder diesel engines which will be marinised and distributed worldwide by Nannidiesel. (Second image from top) The new four cylinder diesel has a displacement of 2.0 litre and incorporates a common rail fuel system and four valves per cylinder.  It will be offered in four models with ratings of 115, 130, 150 & 170hp (86, 97, 112 and 127kW).  The six cylinder engine has a 4.2 litre displacement with common rail fuel injection system.  It will be available in three versions with maximum outputs of 268, 320 & 350hp (200, 269 and 261kW).
For more than 60 years VM Motori, chaired by Giorgio Garimberti, has been developing, producing and distributing diesel engines for automotive, industrial and marine uses.  Each year, no less than 100,000 engines are produced and sold in the automotive, agricultural, industrial and nautical sectors, with in-board engines offering 115 to 350hp.  This new agreement allows Nannidiesel to expand the range of Common Rail engines.

Engine range from 10hp to 115hp Kubota-based engines (10 to 115hp)
The Kubota-based engines are an industrial based engine and are particularly well suited to yachts and displacement vessels (Third image from top -10hp).  Key benefits include:-

  • Maximum torque and power with low rotation speed, making it possible to achieve a good cruising speed (or the generator to run effectively) with a low level of noise, vibrations etc.
  • Fuel economy.
  • Highly developed Kubota technology, particularly in terms of compliance with anti-pollution standards.
  • Easy maintenance.

Engine Range from 115hp to 350hp Common Rail Engines/Toyota and VM base (Fourth image from top - T4.200 Toyota-based common rail engine)
These engines are particularly suited to planing and semi-planing hulls.  Key benefits include:-

  • Excellent power-weight ratio.
  • Higher rotation speeds.
  • Employs latest technology in injection and supply systems.
