The Principles behind the Insert Generator
With today's demands for onboard electrical power, both DC and AC becoming more popular, Nanni Diesel has developed an innovative new concept to add to it's already comprehensive range of marine engines.
The technology behind the Insert Generator derives from the commercial shipping world, where the generators are an integral part of the drive chain.
The Insert Generator delivers permanent power of up to 4Kw - 230v, regardless of engine rpm and can supply through 12v, 300 amp, 24v, 160amp or 230v @50hz.. The unit is driven directly from the flywheel ensuring there is not power loss though transfer. The Insert Generator is water-cooled, directly from the engine's own cooling system, being an integral part of the marine engine.
The biggest advantage of the Insert Generator is the space saving, which often caused problems by more traditional types of generators or alternators. It is very compact, at only 125mm in overall length; it fits snugly between the engine and gearbox. It is silent running and requires very little maintenance.
The Insert Generator will fit Nanni Diesel marine engines from 10hp to 200hp on standard inline shaft versions and 10hp to 60hp on the sail drive options.
