Searchlights
AR Peachment Ltd are suppliers of Jabsco Searchlights. A marine searchlight has to be capable of performing a range of tasks from locating buoys to illuminating a narrow channel and occasionally, searching for a man overboard. With this in mind, it needs to be designed to offer the best combination of beam spread (width) and intensity (length), for both shorter and longer range work. Typically, the spot beams a 7° beam spread as opposed to 40° on a flood beam and will consequently reach at least three times further.
Jabsco searchlight range is quoted in two ways:
- Candlepower – a useful guide to actual light produced but does not measure the efficiency of reflector design to project that light at the target.
- Lux – the most relevant comparison guide, this is the measurement of actual light available at a given distance.
The Jabsco range consists of both Searchlights and Floodlights:
- Searchlights – Remote control searchlights are suitable for craft from 5m (16.4ft) upwards, and their main advantage is that they allow the light to be situated away from the helm in a position of maximum effectiveness. Control is via an eight way joystick and a secondary remote control kit is available for most lights allowing control from both flybridge and saloon.
- Floodlights – A range of compact, purpose designed floodlights are available, suitable for leisure, commercial, fishing & safety craft. They illuminate deck areas or can be flush mounted in the stern to provide a wide beam spread for local area lighting.

Refrigeration
The CRX Series of refrigerator is a veritable chameleon. It’s a fridge, it’s a fridge-freezer and it’s a freezer. This patented invention is down to the removable freezer compartment and smart electronics that regulate the compressor speed, simultaneously saving energy. The freezer box can simply be pulled out to make a larger fridge or freezer and the desired temperature manually set. (CRX 110 and 140 does not include removable freezer compartment).

A Vertical anchor windlass features a vertical rotation in relation to the deck which allows a reduced volume above deck as the electric motor and the gear box are sitting in the chain locker.
Also keep in mind that the height between the top of the stacked chain and the underdeck must be 300 mm minimum in order to ensure a fast dropping of the chain in the locker and an optimum performance of the windlass.
The X & SX vertical windlass range series is designed to provide anchoring solutions for sail and motor boats from 18 to 100 feet. The X series as standard, comes in mirror polished marine bronze produced by hot forging and it is made up by the following models: X1, X2, X3, X4 and Ercole Vertical. All X series windlasses are available in standard version with drum and in low profile version. The SX Series is the new, round base vertical windlass and consists of the models SX1, SX2, SX3, SX3.5, SX4 and SX5. The SX Series is constructed with marine stainless steel AISI 316L to make sure the windlass is corrosion free. In addition the round base designs offers a more compact structure. All SX series windlasses are available in standard version with drum and in low profile version, except the SX1 (only low profile). All models are available in different motorization to meet all customers’ requirements. The ranges X4 to Ercole Vertical, from X Series, and SX4 to SX5, from SX Series, have been designed to be installed in yachts with a length of more that 55ft. These yachts require well-designed professional equipment, with a high mechanical performance and a high level of reliability. With a purpose-built gearbox design, giving them top performance in terms of maximum pull and speed, these models are a reference point in their category. Lofrans’ has achieved an excellent reputation for these specific anchor windlasses, which are installed on the most prestigious yachts throughout the world.

The range of horizontal anchor windlasses are suitable for boats from 18 up to 150 feet offering the best performance and functionality, when there is adequate deck space or if the chain locker has limited size or accessibility.They are simple to use, reliable, with their classic and timeless style making them perfect for many vessels, especially for the charter business.
Material and finish, marine grade aluminium alloy: Our horizontal anchor windlasses are produced by using marine glade aluminium alloy. The body is polished and anodised. Most of the components are made by hot forging. The horizontal models are available as the standard version, in anodised aluminium. Some models are available with a painted white polyester coating.
High performance motors: The horizontal windlasses’ electric motors have been designed to supply high torque in all working conditions. They are available in 12 or 24 Volt DC current and 230-240 V three phase AC current. Most of the motors have an IP66 rating with a galvanized body painted with a polyester coating. Our electric motors are specified to provide the necessary power for a long run. They are also designed to operate in high speed, so as to reduce the operations time. Titan, Ercole and Super Ercole are also available in hydraulic motor versions.
Lofrans’ gearboxes: Most of our horizontal windlasses use a Lofrans-made high efficiency worm screw gearbox. It is non-reversible with the gears produced with specific material able to withstand high-load strain. All gearboxes are oil lubricated in order to minimize the working noise. The models for superior boats use a special Lofrans planetary- worm screw gearbox which allows them to have a high efficiency to dimension ratio.
Manual override: Most of the Lofrans horizontal windlasses are supplied with manual override which makes the windlass capable of chain recovery in the case of electrical failure. The manual override has the secondary function to provide a safety mechanism so that chain jams do not damage the deck.
Independent drum from the Gypsy: Horizontal models give the choice of utilizing the drum for warping operations independently from the Gypsy.
Automatic free fall: Models KOBRA and CAYMAN 88 can be optionally supported with the installation of a device named AUTOMATIC FREE FALL. This device allows the disengaging of the cluch, automatically, by pushing the ”Down” button of the remote control unit. Disengaging the cluch, the Gypsy rotates freely and the weight of the anchor releases the chain into the water.
Rope and chain management: Models DORADO and ATLAS are able to manage rope and chain with the use of a special spring loaded tention arm called finger, which pushes the rope deeply inside the Gypsy teeth.
CUSTOM PRODUCT: Models TITAN, ERCOLE and SUPER ERCOLE are available in six versions in order to meet all customer requirements.
Capstans

The range of Lofrans capstans is designed for boats from 18 up to 150 feet. Capstans are normally installed on the stern of the boat for mooring operations and are used in recreational, fishing and commercial vessels.
They are normally installed on the vessel in addition to the anchor windlass, with the number of capstan units depending on the length and displacement of the vessel.
They are controlled by a pair of the foot switches close to the capstan, so that the operator can have his/her hands free for rope handling.
The construction is very similar to our vertical windlass range using the same mechanical components, giving strength and high performance by relying on Lofrans’- made worm screw gearbox.
The base is manufactured using chromed bronze, strong and long lasting, as are the drums, which have the proper surface to hold the rope and minimize wear.
The ST range has a base & a drum made in mirror polished AISI 316L stainless steel. The main structure of the gearbox is of a strong single-block construction, same as our big vertical anchor windlasses.
Available to operate with 12V DC, 24V DC as well as AC or hydraulic motors for the larger size/higher power models, they are designed to meet a wide range of user requirements.

Bilge Filters
Wavestream Bilge System
A Development of World‐Wide Importance which prevents oily bilge water being pumped into the sea.
All types of boats risk polluting their surroundings when they pump out their bilges. Bilge water invariably contains fuel oil, lubricatng oil and grease which cannot be separated and is dumped into the seas and rivers of the world. Legislaton to prevent this operates in most parts of the world, and is being progressively tightened.
Wavestream ends this. Over the past seven years a new filtration system, based on XOil bonding technology, has been developed for the oil and shipping industries. XOil is a filter material which bonds with oil.
It is processed into sheet form and converted into simple filter cartridges which fit easily and neatly into the pipework from bilge pumps. So effective is XOil that each filter cartridge will absorb 3 times its own weight of oil. So efficient is XOil that even the smallest system will handle 40 litres per minute.
Wavestream Micro System
Designed for the bilges of day boats, RIBs and small sports boats or where minimal space is available, the Micro unit is easy to connect into the bilge water system, using ¾ “ BSP connections. The unit takes a space only 190mm high by 120mm diameter. Filter cartridges can be replaced in seconds.
Wavestream 1000 System
The 1000 system has a larger filter element to cope with the demands of larger pleasure boats up to 20m. ¾” BSP connections are used, and the flow rate, at 40 litres, is the same as the Micro system but filter cartridge replacement intervals double.
Wavestream 2000 System
Recommended for a large pleasure craft and commercial boats, the 2000 system will handle bilge pump flow rates up to 265 litres per minute with a 117mm diameter filter cartridge and 1 ½” BSP connections.
Wavestream 3000 System
The 3000 is designed for large commercial craft and ships. It incorporates a massive filter cartridge almost 500mm long, with significantly increased capacity. The flow rate and BSP connectors are common with the 2000 series.
Wavestream Stainless Steam
These multi-cartridge systems were born in the oil industry but can be used for even larger vessels than the 3000 system. Each unit is produced to meet a defined need. Details of the flow rates are needed to specify.

SureCal Calorifier

SureCal boilers are made of the finest quality materials, which guaranteeing the ultimate performance and reliability. Inaddition,the drop coil technology and finned surface heat exchanger used in the boiler provides unrivaled heat recovery. The units also come in twin coil version for use with secondary water heaters. The unit is quick and easy to install with full fittinginstructions provided. The boiler is insulated in a polyurethane jacket which will retain the heat for up to 24 hours after the engine has been switched off. The boiler is made of 100% copper, this gives both performance and healthbenefits.
SureCal calorifiers come completely assembled ready for quick and easy installation. The immersion, pressure release valve, barbed engine coil connections and stainless-steel fixing brackets all come as standard. A thermostatic mixer valve is fitted as standard for the safety of those onboard and increases the volume of hot water available. The stored water within the boiler reaches the same temperature as the engine (generally 85°C). If the mixer valve is set at 65°C you will generally increase your available hot water supply by 25%. Every calorifer is also individually bench tested ensuring quality and reliability every time. In house development and a commitment to customer service, quality and reliability allow us to provide boat builders with the exact shape and size of boiler to suit their space and application.

It is essential to select the correct rubber grade and mount for the engine or generator in question. For reference, the chart above shows the level of deflection
(or squash) that will occur on each model of mount for a given loading.
In general you should aim for 3mm on the 50210, 4mm on the 50220, 5mm on the 50230 and 6mm on the 50240. The numbering system is simple: A 50223
mount is the 50220 model with number three rubber hardness and so on. Some engines, particularly those with less than four cylinders, require particular care and
your distributor will help with these.

An Italian company, Twin Disc Technodrive have three classifications for their products:-
- Pleasure Craft – Intermittent operation with very large variation in engine speed. Maximum power capacity is intended only for personal use, planing hull craft where full engine throttle operation will be less than 10% of the total time with balance of time at 80% of full throttle engine RPM or less. Annual operating hours up to
500.
- Intermediate Duty – Full throttle operation will average only a few hours per day with major portion of usage at partial throttle and total annual usage of 2000 hours or less.

Hydraulic Propulsion Drive System
The System
The system comprises of a remote mounted reservoir tank which gravity feeds a pump fitted on the rear of the main engine. This pump pushes oil through a directional control valve which directs the oil via flexible hoses to a hydraulic motor unit that drives the propeller.
The design has proven to give many years of smooth, quiet operation with minimal running costs.

- Complete versatility of layout; engine and pumps can be mounted where it is most convenient.
- The system noise level has its own in-built safety valve which limits the maximum torque that can be transmitted providing overload
protection. - Overall system noise level is low due to the positioning of the engine and pump in the most convenient place and away from the boat living quarters.
- Vibration level cuts to an absolute minimum by being able to mount the motor in complete isolation of the engine. No thrust is transferred and there is no torsional activity between the two.
- No alignment problems with propeller shaft and engine.
